At the top of each page on LDS.org is a dropdown for changing the language. On the home page of LDS.org it is a globe icon. On the Calendar page (which I assume is your current interest, since you posted this in the Calendar section of the forum), it is a dropdown called Languages. That will let you change your current language.

However, I just tried this, and I see that in the German version of the Calendar, the header is not displaying properly, so there is no Language dropdown. But another way to fix this is to go to the address bar of your browser. You'll see something that looks like "lang=deu"; change that to "lang=eng" and you should be able to work just fine. You may need to clear your browser's cache to make this appear properly.

That's most likely all you need to do. If by chance your default language was changed in your LDS Account, to make this permanent, you'll need to go to ldsaccount.lds.org and change your default language.
Questions that can benefit the larger community should be asked in a public forum, not a private message.

I've had something similar happen to me a couple of times, and found that aebrown's solution of making the change in the url bar is the simplest fix.

It is bazaar, however, that this is a bug in the system and could be very disconcerting for people visiting the site. I would add that after updating the url lds.org loaded to the English page without incident until tonight.

Hopefully folks smarter than me can find the solution to the problem.

The website developers are aware of this and it's on the radar for being fixed. This Language Problem thread has more info about it.

BTW, mine comes up in Russian and others have reported Spanish. I've reset the language numerous times, but it only remains in English until I've been logged out or close the browser. The next time I visit lds.org, it's back to Russian again. (I'm starting to wonder if it's a divine nudge for me to learn a new language. :D)

EDIT: I just tried clearing my cache and any cookies related to lds.org. The good news is it no longer displays in Russian, however now it seems Japanese is now my default language. Grrrr...

I usually don't log out, I just close the browser and have never experienced the problem. It does happen if I manually log out.

Still, it needs to get fixed.
