Calendar Availability Issues-Sync Disabled

Starting the morning of the 12th the calendar application began experiencing intermittent availability and performance issues. Initially the problems would show up after several hours but as the week progressed the issues have been showing up more frequently.

On the evening of the 15th we put out a release that disabled the sync functionality and implemented a few other performance enhancements.

Today we will be putting out another release that will allow us to enable/disable the sync functionality more easily as we work to isolate the cause of the instability and fix the problem. As a result you may see intermittent sync availability for a few more days.

As we push out new updates we will post information on the forum. We will need your help in making sure we don't break other areas of the app as our testing right now is fairly limited and focused.

Over the weekend we continued to work with the calendar app to provide more stability and performance improvements. In order to isolate trouble spots and determine if we had indeed made improvements to the core functionality of the calendar we have intermittently disabled the sync functionality. Currently sync functionality is disabled as we focus in on specific trouble spots in the apps performance. Once we have been able to make improvements to the trouble spots and verify those improvements in our production environment we will be able to re-enable sync.

We know that many of you rely upon the sync functionality for your daily use with other products and we are working to minimize the amount of down time you experience with this functionality. Once we are on the other side of these issues you should experience a faster, more responsive app. Thank you for being patient with us as we work on these unscheduled improvements.
