My son and I have an idea for an app we would like to have made. Does anyone know where I can find someone to work with on this project? We are also thinking we might be able to learn how to do it ourselves. What program do developers use to make them? Thanks!

For Android there's a SDK that you can download for free. I don't know for IOS but I Think it's well available too.
