Church historical site app?

I am wondering around Nauvoo this week and realized the church doesn't have an interactive historical site app. Obviously it should be geared to nonmembers, lots of basic church history and facts as well as lots of maps and pictures. This should obviously not be designed to replace the missionaries providing the tours but to supplement them and get people to them. Lots of small out of the way sites are missed because of the lack of knowledge. And as a project like this expanded, sites along the entire Mormon trail that are not owned by the church could have virtual tour guides. This would help tell the story of the pioneers from start to arrival in the salt lake valley.
    Just my thoughts

This is a good idea – maybe you could send feedback on one of the Church history pages of LDS.org. That said, the number of developers working for the Church is limited and what they work on is based on the priorities and budgets the leaders in various Church departments set for them (in this case, the Church History Department). So, this may be an opportunity for a third-party developer, to make an unofficial app.
