If you live in the Valley of the Sun, please be aware of a technology seminar offered by the Phoenix LDSTech Chapter. The location is in Gilbert on Saturday, September 21.

If you are reading this, you probably don't need our classes but you could still help us get the word out. If you know of someone who may be interested in using...
  • LDS Tools or Gospel Library applications on their smart device,
  • instruction on the church calendar and other web related tools,
  • digital tools for everyday missionaries,
  • the new Family Tree features in familysearch.org,
  • or hands-on experience with a multi-camera set up,
please tell them about this seminar! You can even help us teach or assist in classes.

Click here to see the flyer which you may distribute. Please note attendance is RSVP. Contact Mike Fish for instructions.

LDSTech chapters are volunteers, so it is okay for us to offer help across stake boundaries. (See "LDSTech Chapters" under Support Resources Overview)

These classes will be basic and elementary so they are perfectly tailored for adults over 30 (intimidated by technology and want to learn). They are invited to bring electronic devices because these will be "hands-on" classes. Volunteer experts will help them become familiar and comfortable using the latest church technologies. We will have 7 classes running simultaneously.Click here for a list of classes.

The location is in Gilbert, on Lindsay Road between Williams Field Road and Pecos but seating is limited so PLEASE RSVP Mike Fish via a personal message before Thursday, September 19th, if you would like to attend (RSVP). He will provide you with all necessary information.

Thank you!

I think i have a really easy question. i just can't seem to get anyone to give me a definitive answer. Here go's. I am quite interested in buying a MS Surface RT. Gospel Library has just undergone some FANTASTIC upgrades and you can watch an LDSTech Broadcast discussing those upgrades on the September 6th LDSTech broadcast.

Currently iOS (Apple products) are the first to receive software upgrades and Android is close behind. At the end of the broadcast, a question was asked about when various operating systems were going to have the same features (parity).

The response was that Android devices will have these features in November (hopefully), and then interesting fact was stated. The percentage of iOS to Android users is about a 55/45 ratio of iOS to Android operating system distribution, where the Windows OS is less than 10%.

There is a working Windows phone version, but I don't know how many features are missing. I have a friend with a surface who works for Microsoft. I'll ask him your question and post back.

In regards to the question: Does LDS Tools and Gospel Library work okay on your surface (windows surface)?

My Microsoft buddy replied and said
The Surface only has Gospel Library. The Windows Phone has both. All platform versions of LDS tools are a bit different, but the Windows version probably has the fewest features.
