PVC Mobile for iOS and Android is Broken - Fix Coming Soon.
Posted: Mon Jun 30, 2014 11:59 am
Problem Summary:
We have encountered an unfortunate situation with the PVC/Vidyo mobile apps, both for iOS and Android. Vidyo recently released new versions of these apps (iOS version 1.5 and Android version 2.2.0.00103), which are incompatible with our current version of PVC infrastructure. When users try to log in using the mobile apps, they will get an error that says “Login failed” or something similar.
We were unaware of the incompatibility in advance, and since many mobile users have their apps updated automatically when a new one is released, there is no way to go back to the previous version to avoid the problem.
Solution:
Upgrading our infrastructure to Vidyo’s current 3.X environment will solve the problem. Our team is nearing completion of a project to do so, and anticipate it will be done within the next few weeks. We are working as quickly as possible to make this happen.
Available workarounds:
An email will be sent to all 16,000+ PVC users worldwide, informing them of the issue and the upcoming fix. It is currently going through final Correlation approvals and should go out within the next few days.
We will provide further updates as they occur. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Available workarounds:
- • If the user doesn’t have automatic updates selected on their mobile device, they should continue to use the previous version of the app.
• The Windows and Mac clients continue to work fine.
• For highly-visible, VIP-level events, it is possible to request temporary accounts on our beta environment, which has the latest infrastructure software and works with the mobile apps. However, because it is a test environment, it is subject to downtime. Requests can be sent to Jason Hill(jason.hill@ldschurch.org).
