2012 Curriculum?

With so many new TouchPad and webOS phone owners recently due to the low prices on these products, I would be delighted to hear that the 2012 curriculum will be available on webOS. Is anyone working on that yet by any chance? If not, what are the chances of that happening by early 2012?

At minimum, we'll need Teachings of Presidents of the Church: George Albert Smith for Melchizedek Priesthood and Relief Society.

I'd be willing to assist in any way I can if need be.

Thanks.

It doesn't appear they are currently available, but that's fine - it's not yet 2012. 2011 was available. I'm sure 2012 will be by the time it's actually needed as well.

I have been working on adding content to the webOS Gospel Library application. If you would like to try my unofficial version, which includes October 2011 General Conference and the 2012 George Albert Smith manual (plus tons and tons of other content - basically everything that you can download for the IOS and Android versions), then you can grab the IPK here: http://bricxcc.sourceforge.net/org.lds. ... .4_all.ipk

In addition to the application you will need to grab the content, which is not yet downloadable from within the application. I separated it out into its own zip archive because it is a large amount of data and storing it separately from the application is a step toward supporting in-app content downloading (which I am working on). You can get the content here: http://bricxcc.sourceforge.net/webos_content.zip

The zip should be extracted to the root of the drive that is created when you connect your device to your computer in USB Drive mode. On a PC it might show up in Explorer as D: or E:. Use 7zip, WinZip or Windows built-in support for compressed folders to extract the zip to your device. It should create a folder called ".ldssa" which contains a "content" folder which has all the original XML content plus all the additional content that I have added. If you have any questions about this you can email me at afanofosc at comcast dot net and I will try to help.

Thanks John. I really appreciate the update.

Is this broken?

I just tried both of the links from John. Both bring up an error from sourceforge.net. Did the content get moved somewhere else? Even though the year is 2/3 over, it would be great to have the updated content particularly General Conference.

The above is a little outdated. For more information, please refer to the TouchPad Apps thread (which applies to not only the TouchPad but other webOS devices as well), specifically the following linked post if you want to cut to the chase:
https://tech.lds.org/forum/showthread.p ... #post81574

And/Or look on the Wiki:

If you read through the post linked above, and John's subsequent posts, you should have a good idea of your current options for getting the latest content.
Given time, things may continue to improve, but for now, manually installing one or both of two unofficial versions is still your best bet (I use both).
