Synching problems with lds gospel library from itunes to my iphone

Due to problems with syncing, I had to delete all my apps and reinstall them. I can no longer download the app lds gospel library (free) or lds scriptures (free) to my phone. They are still in my itunes. The latter is a new app that I just recently downloaded, have never used it. That app appears on my phone but will not actually open.I have an unlocked/jailbroken 3gs version 3.1.2 Solutions?
