Sync Between iPhone, iPad and lds.org?

I currently have the LDS gospel library app on my iPhone and iPad. And I have an account on lds.org. I read scriptures across all of my devices, depending on where I am and what I'm trying to accomplish.

The biggest limitation is that the notes and highlights that I make in one device does not sync with the other devices. These apps will not become "mainstream" and truly useful until the notes and highlighting that people are used to doing in their physical scriptures are also available in a digital format across all of their devices.

I'm reluctant to highlight things in any of my apps or take notes because I know I won't see them anywhere else.

I'm curious if there are any plans to rollout this functionality.

The LDS Tech Projects Wiki has information for each of the mobil devices you mention. In the GL for the iPhone that capability is on the wishlist. I could find nothing similar for the iPad. Both of these are developed by the volunteer community. The lds.org My Study Notes application is developed in-house by Church development teams. We do not have a roadmap for this development. A good guess is that if there is enough interest for the capability, which there appears to be, and it is on the road map for My Study Notes that it will eventually become available.

I think we can safely assume it's on the roadmap for My Study Notes because the church has published a specification for a web service that allows notes (annotations) stored on lds.org and in various Gospel Library applications (on mobile platforms) to be synchronized.

I was just discussing the feasibility of this with some friends the other day. This would be GREAT.

I second that desire!
or third or fourth or however many times I do it.
I love studying with my books, but I don't always have my scriptures with me. I more often have my iPad or computer available. The sync with LDS.org would be a great advancement for the Gospel Library app!

Syncing Crashes "My Study Notebook"

Hi all,
I submitted a tech request to lds.org a few weeks ago and have gotten no help. I was wondering if any of you have had similar issues. I tried syncing my highlights from Gospel Library on my iphone a few weeks back and it crashed "My Study Notebook" on lds.org. I'm assuming that "My Study Notebook" still works for all of you, but when I sign in and navigate to the page on my laptop it says...."Page not found". Before I tried syncing everything worked fine.

That's great. I'm looking forward to an upgrade. Currently Gospel Library are running very slow when annotation sync is activated and after a short while it crashes. Furthermore links, tags and notes added on my iPad aren't updated on my space at LDS.org, neither on my iPhone or the other way round.

I wonder if all my tags, links and notes that have already been added in Gospel Library on my iPad will be preserved, or if they will be lost, when the upgrade comes. Hope that they could be preserved so I wouldn't have to do it again. To the developers, thanks a lot for your good work!

Silly me, I just assumed that my Gospel Library on my iPad would automatically sync with my LDS.org account! I was so excited, until I found that it didn't. However, if it truly is in a soon to be released update, I will once again be oh, SO excited!!
This technology is nothing short of AWESOME! Thank you to all who make it possible!

This functionality did exist but when I updated to iOS 5 the syncing between my devices and lds.org disappeared. I suspect this was not a coincidence.
