I have two iPad Airs. Both bought the same day. Both updated with the latest IOS: 11.0.2. One runs LDS Gospel Library without problems. The other freezes on the main screen. Splash screen shows Moroni, updating gospel library, then a white screen with a black bar on the top and a grey bar on the bottom.
I have removed the app, hard reset on the iPad and redownloaded the app. Still does not work. Tried hard reset to no avail. Repeated removing, hard reset, fresh download. I have 50.54 GB space remaining. BTW, the app works on two iPhone 6S.

Are any of the buttons visible on the top or bottom bar?

No, dark blank bar on top, lighter blank bar on the bottom.
