GL, Memory Hog?

#1

Post by dugnjes »

Until I deleted and reinstalled Gospel Library 4.0.3, it took 2.45 GB of memory on my iPad. I have a lot of notes, cross-references, and markings, but NO downloaded media. Deleting and reinstalling the app brought the memory usage down to 339.8 MB ... really? That's the third-biggest memory user in my stable, right after Overdrive (contains four full audiobooks) and Photos. Seems like a lot for a bunch of text.

There's not that much in my library: scriptures, some lesson manuals, perhaps a dozen General Conferences, the Book of Mormon in German—that's it. No audio, no video, no cureloms or cumoms. Anyone else seeing this or am I just odd?

Note that it's not just "a bunch of text." The items you mentioned would include quite a few images (every general conference talk has at least one image, and in some cases, several images). Lesson manuals also have many images. You could have hundreds of images, and their size could easily add up to many megabytes of storage. And if you had actual images of cureloms or cumoms, there's no telling how much storage those would take.
