Frozen screen on Ipad Air

My Gospel Library App has frozen and can't be used. Is there a way to get it unlocked?
What version of iOS are you running?
What version of Gospel Library (the most recent 4.0.3 update)?
What did you do just before it froze?
Are you able to press the Home button to switch to other apps?
