If one starts with the Gospel library mobile app and then navigates through the lesson outline to the video, finding the download is easy. Just re-trace your steps how you found the video in the first place and it will show as available to play from your device. The icon changes to tell you that it is downloaded and you don't need to worry about where it is.

However, if you want to show a video that is not linked to a subject in the mobile app, you are out of luck. I just spent 3.5 hours with a BYU Professor of Computers (who is also our Ward FH Instructor and knows most everything about iPads) trying to play the new Christmas video on an iPad. The only way we found is very cumbersome and convoluted, but it does work.

You can't download the video from the opening page of lds.org, you can only play it. (This is true for all devices, not just iPad). You have to go to the Media Library, where you see the video you want on the splash page, but NO you can't download from there. You have to select the Video button, and then go to the video categories, then select Christmas then you may, or may not, see the one you want in the play portion of the screen. If not, you need to scroll down and find the one you want. Tapping it will move it to the play portion of the screen and will show a DOWNLOAD button below it in the right side. Now, you can get this far using a browser with your iPad, but selecting the DOWNLOAD words do nothing with an iPad. So, you have to download the video with a Windows machine and then transfer the video file from it to the iPad. Only then can you play a non-lesson linked video on an iPad.

Am I wrong? If so , plesase provide some guidance.

Does it really have to be this hard?
