Content Indexing and Location of files

Two Questions:
1. Whenever I try to index my content it seems like it never is fully complete. Is there anyway to fix this rememdy? (I have tried to leave the app open when plugged in overnight.)
2. Where is the exact file directory where the files for the library are stored?
