Can a GL 3+ ver be placed in the Google/Android Play Store

To temporarily work around GL ver 4+ file-space/re-download issues, I performed
a sideload of 3.2.14 and disabled auto app updating.
After exploring the GL wiki and figuring out a good way to perform a sideload,
GL ver 3.2.14 has worked well for me.
Previously synced tags, bookmarks, etc. became available.

It seems that quickly placing a 3.x.x GL ver in the Play Store would be a
the best temporary solution for many GL users and permit me to re-enable
auto app updating.
However, maybe there are complications that I'm unaware of.
Perhaps the sideload approach is more workable.
I will be pleased to post how to simply perform a sideload if that seems
the most workable approach.

I would like to second this suggestion. I removed the new version and downloaded the old 3.4 for usability during church today, (the combined screens and bookmarks, plus difficult bookmark updating was just too slow) and the old version is working great. However I would love to be able to have the new version so I can work with it and see if I can get a decent study workflow going. As of now I can't have both versions installed. Thanks.

Warning, make sure you have sufficient disk space for two versions.
It seems preferable to have all the GL content on the phone
in order to reduce repeated cell based data download with
associated extra expense and delay during GL study.
I have a phone with 8GB of "phone storage"
and with an additional 32GB SD card.

GL ver 4 will not use the SD card storage.
Prior GL versions do support the use of an SD card.
You can see my post about the consequences of
ver 4 dropping SD card use at:
"Missing GL SD card support is serious concern"
https://tech.lds.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=102&t=27607

The new version requires more content space than ver 3.
You would have to fit both versions on the "phone storage".
If you have 16GB of "phone storage", you might not have a space issue.

However, before using two versions at once, you would need to
know that the GL software was designed to support this.
If not, such attempted usage would malfunction and have
a negative effect on the phone file space.

I installed version 4 and then I wanted to install version 3 and my Samsung Galaxy won't let me do it. It sounds like there is a way to do it.... if you send the information my way I'd appreciate it. thanks

Overview of method
Remove GL 4+ version
Use sideloading from a download directory, then use a file manager
to install the downloaded .apk file.

On phone do:

Settings > Security > Phone Administration > Unknown Sources > Select
enables sideloading; beware of sideloading untrusted downloads

Google Play > Menu > Settings > Auto Update Apps > Do not auto-update apps
prevents a newer version from automatically replacing an older version

Download ver 3.2.14 to phone using chrome
one way to simplify typing long URL:
first email URL to phone, paste URL, copy URL when sideloading

Login to: tech.lds.org
https://tech.lds.org/dl/android/org.lds ... 60913-1723
Download

Use file manager, e.g. File Manager HD, to install downloaded (.apk) file

E.g.: File Manager HD > Tools > APK Files > Select downloaded (.apk) file > INSTALL

I tried to get the previous version of GL using the instructions found on this page. It doen't work. I just get to an android project page where i could volunteer to help with a project and Gospel Library is not listed on the page at all.

Gospel Library 3 hasn't been updated for 2 years and is no longer receiving content updates.
