Don't Dim Screen Option Gone??

It had been awhile since I updated my tablet Gospel Library app. The updated app does not have "don't dim screen" toggle setting that it used to. This is unfortunate as I turned off my daughter's tablet that she had fallen asleep to reading scriptures...the screen had been on for about 4 hours and battery almost dead. Is there a way for the screen to sleep under the normal tablet settings, or has the updated app permantly taken this option away from us? Seems like a step backward when an "update" takes away such an important setting feature.
