"Current reading" bookmark

Please pardon me if this has been asked already. I may simply have failed to come up with the right search terms.
Is there anything like a "current reading" bookmark? For example, for someone that's reading straight through the Book of Mormon using GL, it would be handy to start reading and then leave an "I stopped here" bookmark. Then, when you resume the next day, pick up at that bookmark and move it to your current stopping point when you're finished. It seems like the only way to do that now is to add a bookmark, go to it, read, delete the old bookmark and recreate it at the new point. Have I missed something, or should this be a feature suggestion?
I'd love to have a special "resume reading" button that goes straight to where I left off, and a "start here next time" option, perhaps as a click-hold selection? Perhaps one per standard work, synched across multiple installs automatically so I can read my tablet one night and my phone the next when I'm away from home.
