Joseph Smith Translation

Because I feel that the Joseph Smith Translation footnotes are so valuable and also easy to overlook, in my paper scriptures I have marked the footnote letters for the Joseph Smith translations with a red pencil so that I notice them when I am reading. Is there any way possible that I can do something similar in my digital scriptures?

(Some of the details below may vary by device. I'm speaking of the Gospel Library for Android.)
If you read with the footnote pane open and beside the scriptures, it's pretty easy to notice JST entries (the ones where the text is in the footnote are black text rather than blue links, thus making them stand out). I've found that it was easy to get into the habit of viewing in landscape mode with the footnote pane to the right and noting any time the JST came up in the footnote.
Also, you can highlight the JST footnote words (you can't highlight just the letter - at least, I couldn't) - but just like your paper scriptures, you have to manually mark each one. If you're going to do this, I recommend you choose a color and whether to use underline or highlight, and then use that color and style consistently, since you're looking for a quick and easy alert that there's JST text to review...

Liz, thank you for the suggestion. But on my Nexus 4 the footnotes take up almost half of the already small screen, plus the Joseph Smith translation footnotes appear to be the same color as all the rest. I will play with this concept for a while though to see if it helps. Thanks again.

How about an option where the reader can turn on/off the footnotes so that they actually appear in line with the text that is being read? Thus eliminating the need to refer to the footnote itself.

I would absolutely live this feature also, especially since it seems difficult to match exactly where it ends at times.
