Re: Missionary fast offering

This pretty much confirms what I feel as well, thanks. It's a shame there is no way to simply link the donation to thier membership record. Unless I'm mistaken, all you have to do is enter their membership number when you create the new donor. This also resolves the issue of how and where to send t...

When I've been in this situation, I put any information I found in the comment box. At least the folks in Salt Lake will have a place to start.

Re: Wife is "Other" in MLS Household

I'm adding the spouse to the household as you describe. Add the marriage info to the member's record and then add the spouse to the household, which in turn creates the non-member record. The only step missing in that process is getting permission. So I will repent and follow the policy from now on....

Re: When and How do you count attendance in sacrament?

We don't count cups. I wouldn't think that would be very accurate. What about children, or infants who didn't take it? What about individuals who couldn't take it, or people who came late after it was passed, or left before it was passed. We want to be as accurate as possible. I have a friend in an...

Re: Wife is "Other" in MLS Household

So the question is, without creating a record, how do you show that a household does indeed have a husband and wife? Define "show". MLS does know who is married and who is not. The printed directories from MLS will not show a spouse if a non-member record is not created for them. The on-l...

Re: Baby Blessing - Nonmember parents

I would go with aebrown's other option, if it is okay with the handbook. What happens when the parents move? Either you are stuck with this record forever, or some other ward is going to get a household with a child as the head and no one there understanding why the home teachers keep coming to visi...

Re: Wife is "Other" in MLS Household

I have two questions that I believe are related to this thread. 1. We have a lot of records that show marriage info for non-member spouses. In the past, we have created non-member records for them and added them to the household. Reading the Wiki, I believe we are doing things wrong, because no one ...

Request Form for Family File Card

Yesterday, I was approached by a sister who is trying to arrange a sealing for her mother (living) and her father (deceased). She had the other ordinance work for her father done many years ago. Someone at the temple told her she needed a Request Form for Family File Card and that it could only be i...
