Re: Computer Startup Time

Our clerk office computer has a note on it from the STS to leave it running and lock the screen when we leave. But when we do have to reboot due to a software patch, it seems to not take longer than normal.

Re: Ward Directory Email Spam

You might also report it as feedback on churchofjesuschrist.org. That is the official reporting channel and it is possible they will request you to forward the email to someone at the church to investigate further.

Re: Erasing hard drives with BleachBit

The most effective way of destroying data, on a hard drive, I've found is called a hammer. :D Doesn't consume a lot of time energy etc., and is 100% effective! When equipment goes to the recycler, the company(s) the church contracts with either disposes of it (in the proper manner) or resells it. F...

Re: Home ward Directory can’t access

Are you sure your records were not transferred? If you log in to churchofjesuschrist.org and then click on your name, then ward map and directory, what ward do you see? If it is the ward in Texas where you are currently living, that probably means your records were transferred. I'm not saying "...

Re: Ministering: Assistant EQ Secretary can't be assigned to be a district supervisor

In our ward, the EQ Presidency members are also the district supervisors. We have 3 districts and one EQ. It seems to be working well for them (at least as ward clerk, I'm not hearing any complaints). Our RS Presidency has organized their districts in like manner. Each organization has 1 ministering...

Re: Divorces and how to enter new spouse...

If you are a clerk, assistant clerk-membership, or (I think) member of the bishopric, you can do this on LCR as well. Go to the Member profile for the member. Click on the Family tab Click the pencil icon to the right of the marriage information Scroll down and click the "Change Marriage Status...

Re: Printing Labels

When I go to the Member List on LCR and select the Print button, there is an option (at the bottom of the popup) to print mailing labels. I am the ward clerk - I don't think it is available to everyone.

Re: Canceling an EFT / ACH transaction?

Stupid question -- Why isn't the requester the recipient? I assume your process is to have the organization leader request reimbursements for those who actually spent the funds. I could see it as a member providing the receipt to the organization president for them to turn in. If it isn't clear (I'...

Re: Tithes and Offerings online

I must say that’s a very pious and useless statement. If I was in contact with my ward clearly I wouldn’t be seeking information here, right? I’m not near an Australian Ward and my ward in America doesn’t know about this. I’m living in Australia and I just want to pay my tithes and offerings. I’m g...

Re: LCR cutom report drops columns

I just generated a report with 14 columns. All the columns show whether I print portrait or landscape. Then I took it to 20 columns and it truncated at 14 columns when printing portrait but all 20 columns showed when printing landscape. With all due respect, I'm wondering what use there would be for...
