This is a good idea. To support that feature, curriculum development could create a student study guide like the ones for the Sunday School for the youth courses.

This isn't an uncommon problem among IT workers. I've been guilty of it more often than not over the years. Some people are worse. I remember a developer down the hall from my office in the Windows Mobile group at Microsoft who seemed to have a 90 day supply of food storage in his office.

As I think about this, it really feels like a backend issue. The data is being communicated by wards into the backend system. But, something is not quite right about the data transfer between ward and stake in the data warehouse. Is there anyone in the IT shop that can comment on the structure of th...

This is effective. But, stake clerks that do not have broadband internet to their administrative computer should be aware that the membership refresh takes quite a bit of time on a dial-up connection. This may be one of those "start the task, lock the office, and come back after your block of meetin...

MP Ordinations - Enter at stake level?

Having been one of the aforementioned assistants, it really does focus the ward clerk when an assistant stake clerk comes to sit with them as they enter these updates. A part of this situation arose because we have a number of brand new ward clerks that are growing into their positions. That being s...

MLS Backups

A locked file cabinet in the building is not sufficient to protect the backups for disaster recovery. Suppose the building burns down like the building in Mesa, AZ did recently. At least one copy of the weekly backup needs to be kept offsite. With offsite storage of a backup, a total loss of the mee...

They are telling you that because the addition of other computers to a out-of-building broadband connection needs to be approved. The approval has to come from Church headquarters. The policy letter on this is available at the Stake Tech. Specialist website. Is this an official answer? Do you have s...

Actually, there is an underlying flag in the database for widowed. There is a lot of information in the membership table that is not easily exposed for data extraction and analysis. "Widowed" or just "Single"? "Widowed" would be a bit harder as I don't think there is any data for "was married" or "h...

Complex Queries - need more capability in Custom Reports

Last Sunday, the stake RS president asked for some custom reports. One of the reports that she wanted was all of the widowed sisters over age 65. The single part was easy, the age parameter was easy. But, isolating just the widows into a single list can't be printed directly from Custom Reports in M...
