Don’t get me wrong – I don’t have a problem with the configuration setup on the administrative computer I’ve been discussing. I was just wondering where the configuration changes came from. While I do not know where the changes are specifically from, I have found how the changes were made and how t...

I got the Local Unit Internet Security Application , version 1.6.1, from our FM group. The package came coincidentally a few days before I was prepared to migrate the stake computer to internet operations. Our local FM apparently got it from Salt Lake. The CD is a redistributable (reproducible) CD w...

Not unless you strip that particular user of the rights to make those changes. <evil grin> For example I've stripped "clerk" of the rights to change the system time to prevent folks who use the Windows date set as a handy reference calendar from messing up the date and royally messing over MLS. If ...

If you check out my thread titled LDSAccess, Odyssey Client and Desktop 5.5 you will see that I have white list filtering on an administrative computer. While the topic for the thread is on getting administrative computers networked using LDSAccess I found that white list filtering was a by-product ...

I have Desktop 5.5 installed on our stake administrative computer, but I do not see any configuration settings that require a proxy server. The "Use a proxy server" checkbox under LAN Settings is not checked (but it is enabled so I could set it if I wanted to). So I think your conclusions about Des...

Well, I just tried to connect our stake administrative computer to our CCN using the LDSAccess profile, and I failed. I spent about an hour working with the GSD, and we never got it working. I uninstalled Odyssey, enabled the Wireless Zero service, and restarted the computer. We could see LDSAccess...

Since we were able to get connected with Odyssey Client using a Netgear WG311 v3 card you might try that before giving up all together. We got our card at Best Buy for $44.99 (tax exempt).

Make sure you download the latest driver from Netgear also.

...[W]e decided to pull wired connections to the 3 clerks offices. Unfortunately for us the option of going hardwired is not an option at this point. The cost is too prohibitive. We would have to route cable outside the building and in exess of 100 meters according to our FM group director. The cos...

Try eBay. I've gotten 40Gb hard drives for fhc computer upgrades there for just under $20.

I am curious to know if BAwerkamp was able to solve his problem. I had not read this thread when I started a similar thread in the Computers, Printers, Networking, and Electronics forum at this link . We have the same hardware CCN and wireless setup as BAwerkamp describes except we only use the PIX ...
