Re: Approval or Unit Financial Statement

I have asked members to scan (or take clear photos) of receipts, and state clearly the purpose of the expense, as well as the exact amount they expect to be reimbursed. Many members submit receipts that list a hundred items, with half of them lined out. So it is often a chore when I try to check the...

Re: missionary financial support

Yes, you can make a donation to another ward or branch’s ward missionary fund, but you will need to know the unit number of that ward or branch. Go to Make a Donation, click Select a missionary, and then click Missionary in Other Ward/Branch. (Note: Currently you can only contribute to the missionar...

Re: Electronic reimbursements

In this manner, you could pay an Advance using EFT/ACH, and then upload the actual receipts when they come in. When creating the expense record for the Advance, you could upload a form that indicates the purpose of the Advance. I would think an advance would be done by paper check, but even then th...

Re: Electronic reimbursements

Playing Devil's Advocate here: If you absolutely had to pay an expense today, but you know you would not receive a receipt until later, you could upload and attach any file, perhaps just a note that the actual receipt is not yet available. If a member of the bishopric approves it, the expense is imm...

Donation envelopes and slips

Well this is really weird. When our bishop changed in November, I ordered donation envelopes, windowed envelopes, and non-windowed envelopes. Since we have very few members who donate cash or checks, we still have plenty of donation envelopes and slips after five months. But I just received a new sh...

Re: Electronic reimbursements

Arrgh! Receipts came to me via email. I saved the email thread, including the Primary president's approval, as a PDF. When I created the expense, I uploaded that email PDF, and planned to simply drag the three receipt attachments from Gmail to the expense. However, I clicked Save after I had reviewe...

Re: Lost My MLS Pass word

We couldn't do a deposit on Sunday because our internet was out. The bishop and I planned to do the deposit tonight. However, he forgot his password, and neither of his counselors will be at the chapel tonight. I really appreciate the MLS message that was recently sent out concerning the new MLS pas...

Re: The Evolution of Ward Communications

For the past year, I have served as president of my Homeowners Association. I decided to implement a quarterly newsletter, as well as a texting group. My neighbors are extremely excited to receive regular news about what the HOA is doing for them. So I likewise think that the bishopric or ward counc...

Re: The Evolution of Ward Communications

There are some members who will never be reachable. They don't listen to announcements. They don't bring the ward bulletin home. They will never have an LDS Account, or if they do, they will never remember their passwords or PINs. Members will often ask me for my phone number, and I tell them to loo...

Re: The Evolution of Ward Communications

I have noticed that the new FIR app delivers push notifications. I received a closure/completion notice yesterday. I was surprised, because I did not know the FIR app was running as a background process. There is no single best way to disseminate information, so we must deliver the same information ...
