Re: mobile phone number

I believe you can change your individual phone number yourself by logging into churchofjesuschrist.org, but there may be some things that only the clerk can change for you. That is correct. Please keep in mind there is an "individual" number (typically cell phone), and "household&quo...

Depends on what you're trying to do with it. If your equipment only support 100M, I'd think it would be Ok. But if your switch is 1GB, those new APs might be trying to do 1G over old wiring.

Depending on the scanner's features, they might be able to scan to a USB drive and sneaker-net it over.

Anything else sounds like "circumventing security". :/

Re: Backup of the backup

That was certainly the directive for a time. I can't find any current documents that call for that, but nothing to discourage that either. The last batch of computers I got included a flash drive for backup. Backups are not as important as they once were. Most information is in SLC's computers. I th...

Re: Moving a record when don't know destination

I'm not sure how it works now, but eons ago when I was a ward clerk (before modems were used), I'd just write "regroup with parents" on the record. You could probably still do that via the "Special Request" feature. (Although, these days you have to wonder if the parents are stil...

Re: Moving a record when don't know destination

– Work with friends of the member who moved out, who are still in the ward. Share the list of those who have moved with ward council members, and assign parts of the list to them to gather information. If ward council members aren't in contact with the person who moved already, they can use Faceboo...

Re: Moving a record when don't know destination

Try to move out a record, indicate the new address is unknown and I believe you'll be presented with a list of instructions. As far as ministering, the best you can do is create a district for them. Usually under the EQ or RS President. They still show up in your stats, etc, but at least you're keep...

Re: Changing birth parent to adoptive parent

Just to be sure: the system can only record one set of parents. Adoptive parents will displace the birth parents. So, the way to change things is to edit the parents on the child's record.

The adoptive parents shouldn't be recorded until the adoption is final.

It looks legitimate to me, but it doesn't hurt to verify.

Re: Stake boundary map on CDOL

Please can I get a direct link to the Stake boundary map section of the CDOL? I don't see how that's possible as any link would specify the stake. Pull up the stake in question in CDOL and up at the top, under the CDOL banner, is a line of links. The one you want is "Unit Boundary Forms/Maps&q...
