Re: FM Group and TV's and Libraries

Perhaps my perceptions are off, but we seem to be getting highly emotional, so I'd like to apologize, as it was not my intention. rather I wanted to bring up the possibility that perhaps TV's and videos are not required for teachers to be effective. That it seems (to me) is more dependent upon the t...

Re: FM Group and TV's and Libraries

While I agree the gospel can be taught without videos (the Savior did), let me quote a typical lesson (Aaronic Priesthood, January, first lesson): "Show the video “Fulfilling Your Duty to God,” and have the young men look for how the experiences depicted in the video helped the young men and o...

Re: Member wants to donate flat screens...

That information was removed from the site, because it only applied to the US and Canada. Outside of the US and Canada, the DTA for that area, and his staff make the decisions about the temporal affairs of the church, including, what AV equipment is standard in the meetinghouse. Frequently these nee...

Re: Problem with audio coming into chapel

It is never normal for audio to flow form the cultural hall to the chapel. even if the doors were open between them, the cultural hall audio should be contained within the cultural hall. If the system was set up correctly, it should still be able to flow to foyer and perimeter rooms, as long as the ...

Re: Operational temperature of AV modulator?

Does anybody know how hot the Blonder AV modulators should be when running? I just found one of ours running at about 140-150 degrees (hot enough to burn) while in use... is this within normal range or is it overheating and in need of circulation fans in the satellite cabinet? The Blonder tongue mo...

Re: FM Group and TV's and Libraries

Fascinating conversation so far, I wanted to add some things that may help clear up some of the controversy, and others, I'm not going to touch with a 100 ft pole. In regards to the TV's: Each Area (DTA Area) may set it's own policies, as to what equipment is necessary and useful in the meetinghouse...

Re: Secondary Assisted Listening System for Sunday School

Lots of Questions here, So I'll do my best to answer them all. Currently buildings in the US/Canada are equipped with a single ALS transmitter, and at least 2 receivers. Due to the cost of the receivers, they are typically stored in the materials center and checked in/out, so that they can be used b...

Re: Assisted Listening device interferring on Amateur Radio

Good Mormning gentlemen. I am chiming in as reading the forum communication so far it appears to me that tow separate conversations have merged into 1, and it is causing confusion. The original post by studerje "was in reference to a problem where the Assisted Listening System" ALS appears...
