Re: Automated Music Solution

I don't think it's possible to put music in just the foyer using the building sound system without also placing it in other parts of the building which could be disruptive to activities taking place there. So you may need to put something in that's completely standalone. A "loose" item wo...

Re: Audio Splitter for podium

Can anyone recommend a splitter that we can purchase that will allow us to run wireless mics and an ipad through the sound system in the chapel? We had a GA visit and we had to switch the audio cables throughout a training meeting. There has to be an easier way. Any ideas and thoughts would be appr...

Re: Crab Box, Time for a redesign-overhaul. Audio volume issues

I'd like to add, a note of caution. It is squarely within the purview of the FM group to provide a "Crab Box" or equivalent for each meetinghouse. One of the benefits to the wards and stakes of allowing them to do so, is that they are responsible for the care and maintenance of that equipm...

Re: Organ Line-in

'Fraid not. It has some sort of card reader, but no audio line-in that I can find. Did you look under the keyboards? I checked the organ in our newest chapel. It's a Johannus, installed about a year ago. It does have line-in (among other things), under the keyboard. But it's mounted flat against th...

Re: SPEAKERPHONE RECOMMENDATIONS

We are looking for a great audio solution for our large high council room (seats 15+). Would like any recommendations for a "commercial quality" system along the lines of what PolyCom offers. This link (https://www.lds.org/help/support/pvc-equipment?lang=eng) guides users to ClearOne devi...

Re: old building tech retrofit?

About every 15-20 years they tune up or upgrade the audio systems in our buildings here, regardless of age. . While the typical time frame is 15 to 20 years, it will vary drastically, based primarily on how well the system is performing. In most cases at the 15 to 20 year mark, a sound constant wil...

Re: What does this Button do?

More than likely it rings the hallway school bells (if your building is equipped with them, most new buildings now are built without them to save on costs) in the old days, 2 rings would indicate 5 min left and 1 ring would indicate time's up. If it was something you were not supposed to touch, the...

Re: Projector mounting policy

Is the Church still dead set against permanently mounting a projector? Short of building a special device, our Stake Center requires me to haul a table to the stand, then put a podium on it, then put the projector on the podium. Not a hugely big deal, but rather annoying when YW want to show a 3 mi...

Re: PSA - apparently all units should have ComTek receivers

Your local FM/Facilities Group should be the ones responsible for having the COMTEK systems installed into the buildings and providing the 2 or 3 COMTEK listening devices issued to each building. These are only tied into the Chapel sound system. The COMTEK Broadcast device is generally located wher...

Re: Organ Line-in

Since the organ output is already mixed into the house sound for the 2nd and 3rd overflows, it should be audible for everyone. The mixing of the organ feed into the house system is not standard. It varies from building to building based on the acoustics of the space, and the type of system installed.
