Re: two way stake conference

Some have suggested using the Personal Video Conference software for that, the issue is having their sound and video show up at the transmitting end only when they are speaking. What we have done for Q&A sessions is to have everyone (in the building or not) text their questions to a member of th...

Update to portal.ldswebcast.org?

I went to portal.ldswebcast.org and found that its been updated, there is now an option to mark a receiving location as "low bandwidth" as well as a complete overhaul of the webpage. I like it, I am just wondering what changes are made when you mark a location as low bandwidth. Has anyone ...

Re: Lenovo can only send out one part at a time? Really?

Delayed update, but with the new motherboard and power supply, it is fixed. Was not excited about the tech who ended up coming out (he wanted to re-use the original thermal paste and seemed very inexperienced) but so far, so good on the repaired machine.

Re: Lenovo can only send out one part at a time? Really?

The FM group is currently very short staffed (IIRC 4 of their "mechanics" have retired, transferred or quit in the past month including their "computer guy"), so I am trying to avoid adding to their workload if possible. The techs from the company who Lenovo contracts with for th...

Lenovo can only send out one part at a time? Really?

Our Stake Clerk's Lenovo M78 decided yesterday that it wanted to start shooting sparks from the motherboard. Not sure if it was a bad power supply or a bad motherboard, but it was exciting. As such, I called Lenovo this morning to get a new motherboard and power supply coming out. My expectation (co...

Re: Sony EVI-D70 Camera Control

The control of the camera with the gamepad is much better than it was with the IR remote. I wish there was a way to slow down the max speed for the gamepad controls more. Not sure if its the software, or my gamepad, but if I try to "creep" the pan on the camera, sometimes it "sticks&q...

Re: Receive only test "this event has not yet started" error for "General Membership" viewers

Ah, we have run those but in a case where I just want to reduce call volume on the day of the broadcast (like yesterday) or where someone has time to do the test when I am not available to run to the Stake Center, I like to use the receive only tests. The receive only tests also run a slightly highe...

Re: Turn Off the WiFi

Yes, I can (and have) used a "home AP" (although, it was running OpenWRT not the stock firmware). It would just be nice to be able to have the wifi on On QOS, I have seen where adding QOS on a library network made a saturated network usable for staff functions (IIRC, it was a 5mbps x 384kb...

Re: Receive only test "this event has not yet started" error for "General Membership" viewers

How do you "start" the broadcast for a "receive only" test? I like the receive only test as with a receive only test, I can walk them through getting things to work from home rather than having to go to the Stake Center to kick off a test broadcast. I am fairly certain that I hav...
