Re: Pay tithing online

I was deployed overseas last year and lost access to FamilySearch. I used the feedback on LDS.org to post my situation and they granted access (as a US citizen, I was allowed access even though I was in a foreign nation that did not normally allow access) while I was deployed. You might try this rou...

Re: Baby Blessing

In MLS, you can enter the information manually and generate a blessing certificate. Go to:
Reports/Forms | Certificates
Select: "Child Blessing Certificate" and click OK

After you fill out the information, you can print the certificate from there without creating a child record.

Re: Print Tithing Settlement Form

We had the same problem with our printout (and we have an HP Laserjet 1300 as well). However, the bishop said he would just work with it - we only printed it for him to check off during tithing settlement.

Re: High Priest home teaching site

To see the families not visited, go to Organizations | Home Teaching:
Select the Households tab
Click the Options button and select "Households not visited."

You can adjust the slider to show how many months to use in the filter.

Re: Gospel Library Using 2.2 GB of storage?

Not it's taking up nearly 5 gigs. I don't know what to do. For the Android version: If you have things downloaded you no longer need, you can remove them. Tap the 3 dots in the icon. You can download or remove individual books (or conference issues) or if you go to the top level icon you can remove...

Re: How to report Home Teaching in LCR

That is exactly what I do but I still do not see anything like what I was seeing when getting to reports through MLS when the counselor logged on. As HPGL, you will not see the same things that a Bishopric counselor sees. However, you should be able to see the HT reports and districts. Also, bear i...

Re: Hope Chest

My E-Mail address - pthayne@cisco.com will no longer work (after today). I tired to figure out how to update my hopechest E-Mail address, but couldn't figure out how to. I changed my lds.org E-Mail address, but I still get E-Mails from hopechest to my pthayne@cisco.com inbox. Today is the last day ...

Re: Automatic Payments

I am not trying to be argumentative, but based on the instructions under receiving donations (LCR | Help | Help Center | Record Keeping | Finance | Donations | Receive Donations), I believe the practice of having a check mailed to the bishop without a donation slip included is not in harmony with th...

Re: Automatic Payments

You are correct that normally the bishop will hand it off to the clerk (I am the ward clerk in my ward). However, using this method is still not advised in my opinion. The financial audits and controls are all based on making sure the money consecrated to the Lord is handled appropriately and as des...

Re: Automatic Payments

One can take a prior donation and "repeat" it very easily in the donation system. It only takes a couple of clicks if the amount and accounts don't change. This is what I would recommend to a member who does not want to physically write checks. Yes, you can donate to a specific missionary'...
