Re: Browser-based indexing

The system where two separate people index the same information has not changed with browser-based indexing. Each name is indexed twice, then checked and arbitrated if necessary. Not so. "Review" now consists of a second person reviewing entries of one person. It takes longer as a "r...

Re: Stake Youth Committee

In all the stakes I have been in where I have witnessed that process, they are recommended by the Bishop, but called by the stake.

Re: Unable to delete marriage to deceased nonmember

I believe you have to terminate the marriage in MLS with the reason: Death of spouse. Sorry I cannot give more information - I am not in front of the Clerk computer where MLS resides at the time.

Re: Need Access to Indexing Reports

There was a post on the Web Indexing site indicating they are working on getting the download data to show with the online data. Not sure the expected get-well date for that. I think the Stake Indexing Director has access to the statistics for the download program but have never had that calling so ...

Re: Need Access to Indexing Reports

I am the ward clerk and I do have access to individual statistics for web indexing. I suspect bishoprics also have access but cannot answer for the high priest group leader. From Family Search, go to Web Indexing, click on the name of your ward at the bottom of the page, then click on the blue "...

Re: Expenses

In MLS, open the original expense and correct the error there, then do a send/receive. You should print expense report again and file it with the original expense documentation for audit purposes.

Re: Gospel Library stopped working on Fire OS

I updated the app on my wife's Samsung tablet last evening. That fixed it for her. I never had any problem with mine, but it is a different model with double the memory hers has.

Re: keys to bank deposit boxes

We don't use our deposit box key - the box opens enough without a key to slide the donation pouch in. We have one key that is kept locked in the clerk's office for use if we have a large (i.e. thick) deposit. I would think 1 key is enough for each unit as they are going right from the church to make...

Re: Spouse's tree

It is especially discouraging to those of us in the younger generation. In order for my husband and I to be able to learn from and research the other's family history, we both have to manually add several people. All of our parents and 5/8 grandparents are living, so it's a bigger task than it seem...

Re: membership audit - unfixable issue

When I was a stake clerk, I traveled to each unit, and asked the ward clerk and membership clerk to run the membership audit while I watched. I was only there as a trainer and observer. It was up to them to decide if anything should be flagged as an exception. I helped them fix the obvious errors o...
