Re: Tithing

If the email address is not the problem, annother alternative may be to set up bill pay with donations@ldschurch.org.

Re: Tithing

Once everything is set up correctly the Bill Pay method requires no manual processing. For bill pay, each general church fund (Tithing, Fast Offering, Humanitarian Aid, etc.) is a separate payee and an account number associates the payment with a member. The bill pay method has no capacity for makin...

Re: Tithing

The past donations I made by mailing in my contributions to SLC are visible to the clerk and I assume others. I would assume that if the clerk can see the donations then the bishop(ric?) can as well. If you feel a need to keep your donations hidden from your home ward, contact donations@ldschurch.o...

Broken Links to Lessons

I added a lesson schedule for our Gospel Doctrine class a few months ago and use the built in tools for adding lessons from the manual. The links had been working; but now I get 404 "Page Not Found" errors. I suspect that the reorganization of the website has broken the links. I have submi...

Re: Using LDS Account to authenticate users in third party a

I would suggest offering OpenID sign on - the user chooses their authentication server (Google, Yahoo, Wordpress, and many more proivde OpenID to thier users), but providing your own authentication option (with or without becoming an OpenID provider). The biggest challenge to users wanting to use Op...

Re: LDSTech Conference 2015 - What I'd like to see

I had been responsible for my ward bulletin for 4.5 years before I was called into the bishopric. I included annoucements encouraging members to add individual contact information to the directory when there was extra space availible. I agree that printed flyers for the bulletin board might be an ap...

Re: Mormon Channel Video List

If unsuccessful at optaining a list, I'd be inclined to try screen scraping before manually transcribing.

Re: Using LDS Account to authenticate users in third party a

Technologies exsist which could be used to allow third parties to use LDS Account single sign on to authenticate users (OpenID) and access a user's data stored on church servers (OAuth) without violating any privacy laws. In the case of OpenID, the response only confirms that the user is authenticat...

Re: LDSTech Conference 2015 - What I'd like to see

Liz, I really like all the points you make. As far as making members aware of technology tools, it seems like local units should be providing this; however, there doesn't seem to be a working strategy for making technology changes known to local leaders who are not proactively seeking the informatio...
