Steps to take prior to moving someone to "address unknown"

Is there a list of steps that I should take to try to find someone's new address? If so, where do I find that? Currently, we just send an envelope marked "Address correction requested" to the address we have on file.

Re: Quarterly Report Woes

I tell the EQ/HP/RS leaders to record all visits and contacts in LCR no later than the 15th of the month, because I simply transcribe the numbers from there into the quarterly report. As for attendance, if I can't get accurate numbers from the leaders, I look at the "potential" lists and ...

Quarterly Report Woes

This is my first time doing the Quarterly Report as a Ward Clerk. I've reminded people a few times, but I'm still missing HT and VT information, as well as attendance information for the priesthood. So, a couple of questions: - Is it better to wait and submit the report late, or just take my best gu...

Re: What do you use to track action items in meetings?

Is this a just a local interpretation, but isn't the exec secretary responsible for taking notes etc, at meetings and sending out the relevant information? My understanding is that the Ward Clerk fills in when the exec isn't available. I was an ES some years ago. I found in talking to other people ...

Sigh. The bishopric doesn't even use an agenda. Apparently, the ES has pushed for that quite a bit in the past but it's not going to happen.

What do you use to track action items in meetings?

I was just called as Ward Clerk, and advised that my bishopric is a little... forgetful. They need help keeping track of things they decided to do. I this is largely personal preference, but I'd like to get some suggestions. What kind of a system (paper, apps, etc.) do you use to track action items ...

Re: Finance on LCR page

Just tried it out and it looks great! Does anyone know if bishoprics/stake presidencies have access to this as well? My SP likes to have one of his counselors go over the statements in detail and it would be nice if he could start reviewing it without having to wait for me to pass it to him.

Re: How does your unit handle reimbursements over budget?

Members should not be required to fund their callings out of their own pockets. But I believe it is also acceptable in certain cases to instruct leaders that they are out of money for the rest of the year and they will have to cut back and deal with it. Living within our means is a good lesson for ...

Re: How does your unit handle reimbursements over budget?

The expense has already been incurred, and he wants to be reimbursed. Where is the bishop's approval in all this? Has the YM President been kept up to date in the status of the funds? As you can sermise by my questions, "the system" could have let the YM President down and he wasn't aware...

How does your unit handle reimbursements over budget?

We've had some discussion in my unit lately about how to address reimbursement requests that are beyond the established budget. I'd love to hear how some other units handle this. Here's a hypothetical example: The Young Men organization has a budget of $1000 for the year. A large percentage of this ...
