Re: is there restful API for gospel resources?

Reading through the referenced material on https://permissions.lds.org/ general non-commercial use of content that's already openly accessible on the church website is within legal bounds (from what I understand). So, for example, in the absence of an API, one could do web scraping and achieve somet...

Re: Stake financial clerk training

A few things to keep in mind. This forum is primary user-to-user assistance. A type of mentoring. Your prior message suggested we work together to build training resources - that's exactly what the wiki is: user created content. If you were hoping for an official church created training site, they ...

Re: Directory issues?

Thank you for getting back to me on this. With that idea in mind I went to my ward clerk only to find that you were right on this, they had yet to pull my records into the ward, but my previous ward had already moved my records out of the ward. Thanks again!

Re: Installing Family Search Indexing on Ubuntu 14.04 (64bit

Thanks again for this! I've been looking around at different distros and thought I would try some. I was happy to find out that this script still works on Linux Mint 17. I'm not sure why this doesn't work on Debian, I personally haven't tried it. My guess is you've had to direct the script to the ri...

Re: Installing Family Search Indexing on Ubuntu 14.04 (64bit

You can download a zip here so you won't need to create the file or change any permissions: Just extract it and run the install script in the FamilySearch folder, never mind the other folder it's part of another project. https://github.com/zvakanaka/easy-peasy P.S. It doesn't use Wine. All the scri...

Directory issues?

So I've been trying to get onto the LDS Tools Directory (both app an web browser) but I can't seem to get there. The web browswer constantly reloads the page but never populates anything. It seems to refresh itself within 3-5 seconds. I've tried this on multiple browsers and two Operating Systems (W...

Installing Family Search Indexing on Ubuntu 14.04 (64bit)

So was looking around on these forums in hope of finding something that would allow me to install indexing software on a linux machine (whether it be 32 or 64bit). Within minutes I was glad to find something that made my day! I just figured I'd put it out there a little more if it wasn't known. I wi...
