Re: Is the Ward Clerk required to take Bishopric Meeting minutes?

I use a note taking model called IDA (issues, decisions & actions), I have to be very careful with issues. The Bishop wants no names in any document that is emailed out unless it pertains to a generic task (i.e. Brother x talk to Sister x about music). Decisions are easy. Actions are the most im...

Re: Text designation

I know what you mean because I know send to have to pay to receive text. I told my family and woul opt out of everything I could but when I got a calling I got so many texts from members that I changed my plan. I sent out an email to the ward last night that in part asked about preferred communicati...

Re: Text designation

Finding out a preferred method is always good. Members designate and update their own email addresses (either themselves or through a clerk), I'm not sure why with a simple radio button next to the individual and household phone number would be any different. As Executive Secretary (and membership a...

Re: Emergency log

Perhaps LCR is not the place for it. Maybe another ward subsection of lds.org like the directory or calendar that anyone in the ward can get to, but it's a shame there are not better standard church preparedness tools.

Emergency log

I was told by a former clerk in another area that somewhere, possibly MLS, there was somewhere to record member emergency resources (who has what). Does that functionality exist? Was it migrated to LCR? Where might I find it. I also wondered about printing out a copy of the ward map, on a plotter if...

Re: Text designation

As Executive Secretary, I find that text is the best way to communicate with members of the ward regarding appointments with the Bishop. Sometimes these communications need to happen quickly. And our ward happens to be evaluating communication methods in preparation for what might become an emergency.

Re: LCR Move-out list

I personally don't enter anything into the system until I have completed the steps. I created a hard copy form listing the steps with check-boxes for each. I maintain a file and when I can get steps checked off I take it to the Bishop, and xplain he situation (if he is not already aware) and get him...

Text designation

I find that it would be helpful to have an indicator either on the public directory or on the list of members in LCR, or both, of which phone numbers are capable of receiving text messages. I also wonder about the message (blast) feature. I wonder if it would be useful to have it blast text messages...

Re: Is the Ward Clerk required to take Bishopric Meeting minutes?

It's also dependant on the Bishop. In our ward the clerk did take minutes but after a calling change now he has asked the Exec Sec to.

Designating head of household

Several months ago we had a sister and her child move into our ward. Recently her husband finished military deployment and moved in. I added his records to the same address but now he appears ad just a spouse and she is still the head of household. How do I designate him as the head of household?
