Re: Using VidiU with older technology Sony EVI-D70

@ russel, yes it does for us too. Thus my concerns and frustrations with changing to this new technology, when we have RF cabling all throughout both our buildings! and HDMI cabling is out of the question for long runs, and audio latency. Again, I'm not sure of the whole benefits of this upgrade if ...

Re: Using VidiU with older technology Sony EVI-D70

I should clarify. Yes I know the VidiU can support SD video. We currently have a webcast solution with the "communicator" computer. It works fine, but the video quality is very poor when you compare it to what people are used to viewing today on HD systems. It is SD at 700Kbs bandwidth. So...

Using VidiU with older technology Sony EVI-D70

We will be upgrading to the new VidiU system soon. However, we have these Sony SDI cameras and AVDH-1 video distribution amps that only support the SDI format. I suspect that there are many of us out there that have this set up. So even though this new streaming system supports HDMI, we will never a...

Re: EVI-D80 Camera Controller

My two cents worth if you have not gotten it solved yet. Is get a Joystick controller like the Sony brand. The software is not nearly as smooth to use.

Re: Meeting house Video Distribution over HDMI/ Cat6

@ michaelfish. if you read my paragraph, you will see that I agree with you 100%. At this point in time, the church systems are not ready for HD. However, I do have to say, we need to find better quality out there than the Sony EVI-D70. I find this camera very old 80s technology, and a sub standard ...

Re: Meeting house Video Distribution over HDMI/ Cat6

This post was about a year ago. I wonder how the sytem is working now? Did anyone speak to what you do about digital latency? For instance what if you have live video in the chapel, and you have projectors back in the cultural hall. There will be about a half second audio delay to the video/audio in...

Re: Please discontinue Sony EVI-D70 recommendation

FYI, we purchased one of the D90 units. its quality was horrible! Don't why, since it does have high res, but it had horrible purple hues and shadows on people, along with the yellow shadows like the D70s. I returned the D90 for a D70... :( not the best, but works. Wish we could use CMOS cameras.

Re: Remote Control Camera Suggestion

FYI to all that read this. We finally chose the Sony EVI-D70 cameras. They work OK, but not great. We bought them not for their quality, but because they were cheap in cost compared to professional PTZ cameras. We initially had purchased one D90, but its image was horrible so we returned it for a D7...

Re: Remote Control Camera Suggestion

@marylyon. Those Nikon and Hahnell, are not what we are referring to in remote control. We mean PTZ video cameras over RS-422 wire. What you are referring to are for still photography work. different subject.

Re: Camera's

I wanted to give a follow up to this post. We eventually got things to work okay. However, we had to return the D90 camera and replaced it with a D70 so it would match coloring and quality with the other camera. Still have issues with yellow hue and grainy images, but its acceptable now. In the futu...
