Aloha! I just saw this so I hope you and your husband have already had some amazing activities! I was a missionary in Hawaii a number of years ago and am now a Ward Mission Leader so I applaud your intentions of including the missionaries and creating activities to activate less actives! I know this...

Mormon Messages DVDs

Hi all, I know the idea of Mormon Messages is to send quick links to friends so they can view them over the internet, but I want to know if there are any plans in the works to compile them into a DVD. I have resorted to creating my own DVD's via iDVD (I'd be glad to upload the ISO files) so people c...

Local ward fast offerings?

Maybe I missed this, but when I looked at the form I would send to CHQ, it states any other offerings would go into a general fund, rather than credited back to the Ward. We have some specific needs at the local ward level for these fast offerings so if there is no way to donate electronically such ...

Billpay tithing anyone???

Ok, so this is mostly for humor, but I'm curious how much paperwork would really be alleviated if we had an online way of submitting our tithing and donations. I know there is a need to loop our bishops in as we need to physically hand them *something*, but it wouldn't be nice if there could be some...

Linux Engineer

Cool to see USU grads out there on the forums! I, too, graduated from USU with a Business Info Systems degree. I'm a Linux Engineer at a large financial firm. Basically, deal with prepping, testing, and scripting the installs of all RedHat Linux installs at the company, which currently has about 250...

Old lds infobase library conversion program for OSX?

Hi all, I have an old LDS infobase program that only works on my Mac OS 9. It has hundreds of LDS documents and books I've used many times in the past to research topics. My question is if anyone knows of a product (preferably shareware) that will convert old infobases into something useable/searcha...

vcard option on Ward list

Hey, so I was about to attempt using the application generously written by Denvertimothy, but I noticed the Ward websites now have the vcard option on them! I clicked vcard link and Voila!--instant import into my Address book! How long has the vcard link been there??

Less Microsoft-centric applications?

Hi, 1) I've seen different websites hosted on lds.org (employment section comes to mind) where only an Internet Explorer browser will work. Is the Church looking at more Open Source solutions to make content more widely available and accessible (Firefox, Opera, etc). 2) Will the Church ever stream o...
