Re: Data Required for Stake Broadcast

MDW240, I would be more concern about how much bandwidth (bits/sec) the stream would use and not how much overall data is transferred. Then again does the service provider put a limit on how much data can be transferred before is "slows down" or before it stops any traffic. The easiest way...

Re: Ready to smash the Teradek Vidiu; alternatives?

Well there could be packet loss, because of a bad cable or port on the switch. You said it worked fine other places, so you have narrowed it down to the stake center. In my line of work, I have seen splash screens come up and the. It does because of a host of things. DHCP is a connectionless protoco...

Re: Need help redoing AV closet

Kfred, It sounds great, but my question is now that you put that all in, who will be able to understand what you did and who will be able to maintain the equipment or troubleshoot something when it dies? I'm all for the best, but it also needs to be set up for others to be able to support it and rep...

It sounds like you may need to upgrade the audio driver.

Re: Ready to smash the Teradek Vidiu; alternatives?

Mawhiteley, I believe that you are on the right track with regards to the network at the stake center. Now one question I have for you, when you plug into the netgear switch, do you go from the computer and the Vidiu unit directly into the switch, or do you plug into the wall and then into the switc...

Re: Need help redoing AV closet

I wasn't happy with the SD camera either. My stake will get a new camera in 5 years. Oh well, I may not be in my calling at that time.

Re: Need help redoing AV closet

At my stake center, the entire system was upgraded to HD and so forth. There is no AVDH-1. So I think it would be good for you guys to upgrade it to the latest church standard and this would add a camera to the building.

Re: PTZ camera control using IP

AT my stake center, I use an EVI-D70 camera and I have my computer connect serially to it by the VISCA connection. I use and Ethernet cable to get the signal from the computer to the camera. I do have preset views and it works great. May I point out one item that I feel that should be address here a...

Re: Can't setup 2 receive PC's in 1 building?

If you can get it, make sure that you get https://www.lds.org/help/support/av-distribution-hub?lang=eng this because you can connect the laptop into it and the video and audio will go through out the building, so this would solve your one computer issue that you are describing. I did that in my buil...
