Re: recording live streaming

Hi Sis Morgan! A YouTube account is not needed to view any of the church's broadcasts. As far as President Nelson's talk, it's not scheduled to go live until 9am Mountain Time, which is still about 4 hours and 15 minutes away from when I posted this. Hopefully it will work out for you when it goes l...

Re: Hymn Lyrics on Screen

Is it possible? Sure. Is this something that I should contact FM about? No, they won't be able to assist you. The church has supported Wirecast in the past for doing video titling and hymn lyrics (see Wirecast—Displaying Speaker Titles and Hymn Lyrics ), but if you're starting from scratch, the set...

Re: VidiU front panel display dead

I am sure there are tools that would show you what devices are connected to the meetinghouse network... One of the better ones is "Fing" (free version). Available for Windows, Linux, iOS, and Android devices. But if the front panel is not working, you really ought to work with your FM gro...

Re: Needing new camera

With HD, you'll have to decide what kind of output you can support. Most will output either HDMI or USB3 and with either you'll have limitations on distance without converting to some other medium first, such as, HDBaseT . If you buy a camera that outputs in SDI , then you can carry that a lot furth...

Re: Alternative to Webcasting using a bridge

What you are wanting to do is transmit directly from one device to another on essentially the same network. This is referred to as a unicast (or multicast), and as far as I know, can't be done with the Vidiu encoder. Other Teradek products have this capability, but not the standard Vidiu.

Re: paying tithing and offerings with stocks

Transactions like this can sometimes take a couple of weeks to fully process, so if you plan on having it applied toward your 2017 donations, don't wait too long to start the ball rolling.

Re: First new webcast results

Is anybody else used youtube before? any experiences you would like to share? I posted my experience with YouTube over 3 years ago here: https://tech.lds.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=128585#p128585 The only difference is I've switched to a licensed version of Wirecast, rather than the free YouTube for...

Re: Account made falsely

The church really needs to create a security incident hotline number. This is not acceptable when there are situations where PII compromise and identity theft could be involved. The answer of "contact a ward clerk" who is likely not literate in matters of cyber security, who will then lik...

Re: Are LDS Philanthropies donations visible on donations.lds.org or lds.org/finance?

So, I think the answer is that he'll have to get a statement from them. This is correct. I've donated stock a couple of times and received an official tax statement immediately following the transaction. Not that I had to, but I always brought those statements to tithing settlement, since the ward'...
