Second Stake Conference Webcast – Lessons Learned

We just completed our second Stake Webcast. As you may remember, funds are still hard to come by during this downward economy so we made do with what we had from last year (and a little more). (For those who don't remember, we borrowed a laptop and used a USB webcam and Mic). Here's what I learned t...

Jebb- A few questions: 1. What technology for connectivity will each participant be using, internet or plain old telephone service? 2. If using internet, do you know the bandwidth availability and speed of each participant? 3. What is your budget for equipment (if needed)? 4. Is this a long-term pro...

The first row in the chapel was not the ideal location for the equipment, but for our first webcast (along with surprises prior to the webcast) the location worked out. One option for this year would be to use the clerks office as a 'control room' and wire camera and audio cable to the stand. This m...

First Webcast…Here’s what we did and how it turned out

We did our first webcast in the fall of last year. We did it with a very small budget (under $400). More importantly, all of the equipment that was purchased can be used for Stake video conferencing in the future. I believe this should be an important consideration when planning for your webcast. Th...

Question about camera output in webcast software, Windows Media Player 11/ bandwidth

When configuring the 'camera output' within the webcast software what is the recommended resolution? The dialogue box offers multiple options and I'm not clear as to the 'best' option. I've been selecting 1280 x 762 (?). Also, when viewing the downstream in WMP11 should the video be close to that ou...

When I close out the error message and log in the Webcast software shuts down by itself. Do you think the two problems are related, error can't find device and shut down?

I'll try deleting the job file tonight. Just need to figure out how to make this into a FHE lesson.

Just tried it too with no luck. Pete, did you ever get it working? I'm using a Logitech 910 webcam. Had no problems before. The only thing that has been changed was uninstalling Norton Internet Security (memory hog). Replaced it with Avira which I've used on other PC's for years with no problems. He...

Help! Error Message in Meetinghouse Webcast software

I'm now getting this error message when I start LDS Meetinghouse Webcast. The error appears prior to logging in. The software has worked and streamed during a test prior to this. Before I uninstall and reload software thought I would ask the forum for advice. Here's the error message: Microsoft.Expr...
