This is a problem on Google's end. I have had this problem before, and have it now. Google is not able to communicate with the server. However, a browser can communicate with the server and download the calendar to an ics file that can be imported into the Google calendar. The questions and comments...

This appears to be a problem in Google. I have tried this with two different GCAL accounts (both mine). I receive a failed to fetch URL error. I did some searching and found this has been an intermittent problem with GCAL for some time. I have validated the file from the Church and am able to import...

I waited at least nine minutes. I went to the calendar sync page and generated a new sync URL. I then copied the new sync URL and then signed out of the calendar. I then signed on to Google calendar and added the URL per the instructions. (I have done this before.) Google calendar showed the calenda...

The sync to Google Calendar does not appear to be working. I noticed this on 1/12/14. Great Idea

I think this would be a great idea. All the tools available from LDS.org should be converted to run on mobile devices. It would be nice if at least lds.org had a mobile friendly version of the site also. I am not sure where to start to be able to try to develop such applications. I am not even sure ...
