Re: Annual ward history template?

I'm on my fourth year doing a history, either for ward or stake RS. I think all of these ideas are great. There actually is a template available. Here is the link: https://www.lds.org/callings/church-history-adviser/bc/pdf/stake-district-and-mission-annual-histories/forms/priesthood-auxiliary-repor...

Re: Annual ward history template?

davesudweeks...if there are examples you could send me, or any information to help me get started, I'm all ears (and eyes). I don't find a way to email or pm you? If you can post a way, I will gladly get back to you. I was sustained in November, and now am tasked with the Annual Ward histories! So ...

Re: Do Not Contact List/Visibility

I think it would also be nice for member's to have some control over what emails they receive. We send out a weekly bulletin/program/announcements. There's no opt out option for people so I have to keep a list of those that don't want it and remove them from the email before I send it out (I use the...

Re: Do Not Contact List/Visibility

I should add..... I am starting to see a trend (does 2-3 cases make a trend?) where members request their adult children's records to be pulled back into the ward. I later find out that they don't live at home and they wanted the records moved so the ward they actually live in would not contact them...

Re: Do Not Contact List/Visibility

The problem with the current tools is lack of flexibility. It seems like an 'all or nothing' approach. You can put them in their own ministering group or you don't. You lock their contact info on the directory, but it's still visible to leaders that have no context to that lock. In our example, we h...

Re: "Send a Message" Function on LCR

I send out a ward newsletter each week using Send a Message and it goes ti AOL, Gmail, MSN, and Hotmail among others and as far as I know, they are all receiving it. We're doing our sacrament program via email. The familysearch.org email address is the only one I've heard of not getting it. I use a...

Gas tax?

So, when we process reimbursements we can enter the sales tax which gets reimbursed to the church from the state (Utah). The sales tax does not count against our budgets (I called HQ and asked about that). However, with gas receipts we don't see any tax info. I'm guessing gas tax isn't treated the s...

Re: "Send a Message" Function on LCR

I also have Gmail, and I get email from ldschurch.org all the time. However, I don't think my leaders use "send a message" much. There's nothing in my spam folder. I'm wondering if the issue is the email of the person sending. Their domain may not allow the church to send emails on their ...

Re: Missionary account over payment

I had a bishop in our stake express concern about re-categorizing and asked if I, as the stake finance clerk, would call unit support. I did, and their answer was that it previously had been allowed, but the current policy is that the only option for excess funds are to return them to the Ward Miss...

Re: Transfer from Ward Missionary to Tithing

I had a bishop in our stake express concern about re-categorizing the donations to allow them to go to tithing or another fund and asked if I, as the stake finance clerk, would call unit support. I did, and their answer was that this had previously been allowed, but the current policy is that the o...
