Re: VidiU backorder

What's the current status of VidiU system? I haven't been keeping up with this and haven't upgraded to the new solution. I just went to the lds store and don't even see this available now. I have a stake conference in 2 weeks and have a nice setup with the older solution that has always worked well....

How many sites can receive simultaneously

With the solution Salt Lake is using to stream our webcasts, is there any kind of meaningful limit to the number of sites that could receive a stream simultaneously? I.e. Is the load on the streaming servers impacted by the number receiving the stream, or does that have no impact? Hypothetically, co...

JAVA updates corrupt MLS copy of JAVA?

A ward in our stake was having lots of problems with MLS: data not bein saved correctly, ultimately not being able to save data at all. The bishop and clerk contacted GSC, who apparently claimed the DB was "the case case they have seen". There were instructed through a process of erasing a...

Re: 881W firewall limiting port throughput

Yeah, we were certainly fortunate with what we had available. We wanted to make it flexible as possible going in, not knowing what we'd end up needing. We did have 3 live/VOD streams going in parallel at one point + 15 PCs with consultans that were occupied and active all day long + some attendees w...

Re: 881W firewall limiting port throughput

Yes, we were one of the pilot stakes for RootsTech. In the end it was very successful. But it was painful getting to that point, and there are certainly improvements that will need to be made before rolling it out more broadly (but hey, that was the point of doing the pilot).

Re: 881W firewall limiting port throughput

I agree - this limitation is going to start causing problems in the next couple years. Thanks, Mikerowaved, for the link to the Cisco performance info. I hadn't seen that before. On a subsequent call to the GSC one of the engineers also confirmed that 25 Mbps is a hardware limitation on those router...

Re: Stake conference broadcast contingency

For our webcasts I wanted a backup that I could go to if I lost internet on the broadcast side (could be SLC server issue, internet in our stake center, or any number of problems along that chain that kept me from getting internet traffic to the remote sites). So I wanted a way I could get audio fro...

Re: 881W firewall limiting port throughput

But it has to be something more than security settings. They have an impact for sure. But I certainly wouldn't expect them to take 75% of my bandwidth. The guy I was talking to at GSC said the same thing, but couldn't figure out how to view or modify any other settings that may be causing the problem.

881W firewall limiting port throughput

We have a particular need at our stake center for a few days this week and had our internet provider service (Comcast) upgraded to 100Mbps for those few days. If I plug a PC directly into the Comcast modem I get speed test results of around 100Mbps (except the Church's speed test). However running t...

Re: Video overlay

That's disappointing. Looks like the one you used is just an older version of the one I was looking at, made by the same company. No one's found a decent way to do this for a reasonable price? Any way to do it in software with an Osprey 260e card and WC software?
