Re: Scanner Printer suggestion for new LCR

I just donated my old Canon flatbed scanner to the clerk's office. It was heading to Goodwill, anyway.

Re: Expiring Password

We had Stake Conference + General Conference right after some of our people changed passwords, and caused quite a conundrum Sunday. Us, too. Stake conference on March 31 and GC on April 7th. Then my bishop asked me to print some checks, and I couldn't remember my new password for several minutes. I...

Re: Electronic reimbursements

The new system assumes that an approval happens before you enter it into LCR. It does not dictate that process. Your process sounds similar to ours. For electronic email requests, I'm saving the email thread to a PDF and uploading it into LCR with the receipts as proof of the approval. If someone g...

Re: Why roll out a new system with no training

"Transaction to be Approved" email messages are sent to the three members of my bishopric, the ward clerk (me), and my assistant clerk for finance. We have received three of these messages so far, usually the same day each expense is created. However, the messages are not sent immediately....

Re: Finance without an internet connection

Since our Windstream DSL modem died, our bishop and stake president are working with the FM to switch to Charter. That should increase our download speed from 3 Mbps to 100 Mbps. That would be nice.

Re: Why roll out a new system with no training

The scanned receipts that our Primary president emailed to me last week were mostly readable, except some handwritten notes on those receipts are not visible on the scanned images. Therefore, I plan to keep the paper receipts for just such a scenario. This is similar to the digitized films of vital ...

Re: Why roll out a new system with no training

The easiest way by far to perform an audit is to use two computers. Failing that, you can use two Windows profiles on the clerk computer. By the way, just for fun, I scanned in all the receipts for all the expenses since the beginning of the year last night. So the auditor can review all those recei...

Re: Finance without an internet connection

OK, I see it now!
Checks should be printed, according to church policy, only on the unit computer and printer.

Re: Why roll out a new system with no training

My stake audit committee trains auditors on changes to audit procedures. And last year, we even held a special training for bishoprics and clerks to prepare for the upcoming audit cycle. Unfortunately, those who needed the training the most did not attend the training. Having said that, I will repea...

Re: Rescue mode?

Since my name was not on the checks, not on the account, and not on the list of authorized users, I had no way to prove my identity to the ISP.
