If you missed the live Face-to-Face event with Elder and Sister Bednar on May 12, or want to revisit the Q&A session held with youth from around the world, the conversation is available online at the Youth Activities Website. Tune in and as you watch and listen, open your mind and heart to the influence of the Spirit. You will be richly rewarded.
The Holy Ghost was a reoccurring theme throughout the conversation as the Bednar’s spoke with the youth who were present and with those connected over the web. Elder Bednar set the tone by saying some of the really challenging questions would be beyond their experience and capacity, and he hoped through seeking the companionship of the Spirit, listeners would receive thoughts and feelings, impressions and inspiration by the power of the Holy Ghost, and would hear things that are not said and find answers to questions that are not spoken.
At one point, in response to a question about learning from a young man, Elder Bednar emphasized the role of the Holy Ghost as the perfect and perhaps ultimate teacher, and how learning and changing are the essence of the gospel. Sister Bednar added how insight throughout life comes from preparation for and studying while serving a mission. Elder Bednar then posed a question of his own to the young man about learning and the young man’s response was humble, heartfelt, and timely for someone at an age when life-long learning patterns are beginning to develop.
Many times during the evening Elder and Sister Bednar drew from the scriptures and quoted from memory verses drawn from their own life-long patterns of learning and applying gospel principals. Both concluded with powerful testimonies of the Savior, the restored gospel, and their love for youth, asking for the power of the Holy Ghost to confirm what they shared to participants.
