LDS.org calendar version 2.2 was recently released. Version 2.2 includes a host of new features, including the following:

Agenda view
New Settings button and interface
Churchwide calendars
Overview canvas
Private calendars on Initial Setup
Unit information on events
Primary contact information for building schedulers

Ugh. Still broken — I've got a weird calling and it's not reflected in the database, so I don't get the [+] button. But giving me the add event button would actually give the admin a clear path to letting me post events.

Frustrating.

Can you just ask your ward clerk to make your an admin? That should solve the problem.

For some reason the LDS calendar stopped syncing with my Google calendar recently, I'm not sure if it is related to this latest update. It was working fine but some of the new items added in the last week or so have not come across. The iCal URL is no longer working - I used to be able to browse to it to see the iCal file, but now I get the following message:

Error 6 (net::ERR_FILE_ NOT_FOUND): The file or directory could not be found.

Generating a new URL doesn't fix it, and trying to re-import the calendar into GCal results in the error:

The address that you provided did not contain a calendar in a valid iCal or GData format

Is this a bug with the 2.2 release? Is anyone else experiencing it? (Can't live without my GCal sync!)

Paul, the sync has been temporarily turned off due to some technical issues with the calendar. Developers are trying to sort out. Sorry -- I forgot to add a note about this in the help but have added it just now. Keep an eye on the calendar forum on LDSTech (tech.lds.org/.../...) for an announcement regarding sync availability. We hope it will be fixed within a few days.

Please fix the outlook sync issue ASAP...I rely heavily on this to be available for appointment setting etc. I've had trouble since the update.

I get a "Cannot verify or add the calendar...." message.

Do you know if the ability exists now, or will exist in the future to attach an agenda to an event? The calendar has an Agenda tab, but it seems to be for a different purpose.

The new version has made my calendar unreadable - fields overlay one another, multi-colored lines fill the right side, etc.

Is there any specific software needed to make the calendar functional?

Raymond, make sure you have the latest version of your browser. If you're using IE8 because you're on Windows XP, download Chrome or Firefox instead.

I would have expected it to be solved by now but it doesn't apppear to be. When I even try to go to the Google subscribe URL provided by LDS.org, The URL never loads anything. I would think it would provide an iCal formatted file but it's not.

Not trying to be rude, but this is a very poor tool for non-admin users; even with standard counselor or presidency callings. Our Ward hardly uses this tool as a result (not as a purposeful boycott; simply because it is hard to use, and the functionality is poor, even if you know how to use it).

I am a Ward Executive Secretary, based on the documentation that would make me an administrator on the Ward Calendars. I cannot however add calendars or adjust the rights for those who need to be able to access calendars. Is it just me or there something wrong?

Wondering why the Calendar seem to be so glitchy. It seems to spend an significant amount of time with the spinning hour glass and often seems to time out during a refresh, as in when returning to the main calendar after editing an event.

Is there something wrong with the Calendar setting. It constantly sends me to a blank page. Is it possible I have something set in my browser that is preventing this. I am accessing it with Google Chrome.

Joe, what browser are you using? Try Chrome, Firefox, or IE9. Also, what tasks are you trying to do when you experience the issue? Note: It may be better to troubleshoot this on the forum.

HELP!! I am a Stake Clerk and am not able to add bldg schedulers. I reported this issue to church HQ and got an email from them saying the fix should be out yesterday after QA testing, but as of this time (the day after) the problem still exists. I really need to add/change the schedulers.

John, developers are working to fix the building scheduler issue. I don't have a firm timeline. Maybe today, if they can solve and test and deploy everything.

Just curious, but why is it such an urgent issue?

Also, you mentioned reporting the issue to Church HQ. I'm not really aware of lines of support with Church HQ. Would that be local unit support you contacted? That's great if they're in tune with dates for fixes and updates.

A lot of others were asking about a timeline as to when Google Sync will be fixed. I'm sorry that I don't have a firm target date. The calendar team has been overwhelmed with higher priority issues to solve, such as server stability and performance, not to mention an increasing workload of new tools and applications to develop. We expect a major revision/update to calendar in 2013 to hopefully fix these bugs.

I noticed two issues.

1. When printing the calendar to PDF, times in 12-hour format leave out “a” for “a.m.”

2. The calendar does not allow a recurring event if there is a conflict. It would be nice to be able to create the recurring event and then to delete the instances where there are conflicts.

When trying to access stake calendar on my ipad, nothing comes up. It just keeps trying to load calendar events but nothing shows up. It has been loading for 15minutes with no results. Any help would be much appreciated
