When you create/improve on services available please be sure that you include us in the applications and services. Also please remember the unwillingness of Adobe to share with Apple when choosing upload utilities.
Thank you.
Quoting Arthur Thomas Nickel:
I think this is focused on the Church owned computers in the clerks office... so I'm pretty sure that since the Church purchases those machines they'll focus on making MLS be compatible with Windows (although the Church tech dept is making more and more web based "apps"... be sure to point out issues you find on the forum: tech.lds.org/forum ).
Thanks~!
I'm mostly interested is seeing the remote access become operable for Mac products. This will make performing many tasks much easier for all concerned.
The biggest problem with Clerk's computers is having to allot time for group Presidents to enter various information, such as attendance and Home Teaching data. Hopefully we will get spreadsheet connectivity for these tasks.
Can we get a sneak preview of what is going to be discussed regarding remote access?
:-)
STS or clerks helping other clerks is another very large reason to be able to log in and 'view' what the other person is seeing. Remote Access is critical to the STS role.
Additionally, hearing that 'they' are working on the Leader.lds.org to expand functionality, in reality, there has been very little changed in a little less than 2 years. Based on that history, I just don't see much changing in the near or long-term future. I'd love to be proven wrong, but it seems resources are being used elswhere.
Brother Shaw,
For recent improvements to Clear and Leader Resources, or leader.lds.org, see the following Release Notes from 22 May 2012.

I've been a clerk for less than two years, and the improvements in my time have been most welcome.

The initial release of the leader and clerk resources (In Oct 2011) was revolutionary, a game changer for clerks and Bishoprics, Stake and Branch Presidencies. However, since the initial release, relatively little has changed. (yes we can update ad[censored] and phone numbers, and enter the quarterly report).
The original point, and I think it is still good, is that Remote Access to Clerk computers is needed and provides value and should be part of any new thinking regarding clerk computer!
I have used remote access to the ward MLS computer, but found that I could usually not see the content of the MLS window. I could work on the other apps, but not MLS. I am sure I'll get there yet!
