  • Missionary information view

New Privacy Options. You can set privacy levels for almost every part of your Directory profile. These privacy settings determine who can see your household information.

For more information about the Directory privacy settings, see Data privacy settings in Directory.

Improved household layout. The layout for individual households has been improved to make it easier to find and read information.

Stake Leadership PDF. You can print stake leader information to a PDF by navigating to the stake leadership information and clicking Print.

A-Z Index quick navigation bar for household list. You can use a quick navigation bar to find household information faster. Just click the letter of the last name you’re searching for when viewing the household list.

Missionary information view. Click Missionary in the left sidebar to see which missionaries have been assigned to your ward and which members of your ward are serving missions. You can see the phone number for your ward’s assigned missionaries.

When you click a missionary’s name, you also see a map outlining his or her mission boundaries. You can click on the map to open it in LDS.org Maps. The following image shows a sample Missionary view in Directory.

The "Show on Map" doesn't seem to be working.

Billy, thanks for the note. Developers are aware of this issue and are working to fix it.

It would be nice if Missionary showed their current address.

Roger, missionary addresses are hidden for privacy reasons. However, you can contact the parents of the missionary and request the address.

Hi,
I'm a member living outside the US and our ward directory shows the missionaries from the ward but we don't have the section "Assigned missionaries". Is the section only available to those living in the US?

# Jeff Brown 2012-03-15 10:27
The missionaries displayed are pulled from the system that is maintained by the missions themselves. If that system has missionaries assigned to your ward, they will be displayed. It is up to each mission to maintain this information.

Nice updates! I do have one question....are there plans to differentiate members from nonmembers in the household? We have some families whose spouses or children are NOT members, yet they appear in the directory with no indication that they are not baptized members.

# Jeff Brown 2012-03-15 10:31
The directory shows information for whole families where possible. We don't currently have any plans for differentiating non-members.

As a former RS President who has seen firsthand the issues that those who have non-supportive spouses deal with, listing nonmembers in the directory is concerning. Is there a way nonmembers can be made aware and opt out of the directory? Although no breach of privacy is intended, I'm sure, I can see this mushrooming (similarly to what has been happening with those whose deceased family members are erroneously baptized in the temple without permission).

How can I get a spouses name to no longer show in the online directory under household names (His and Her name show together)? The problem is that one of the spouses have been removed from the records of the church and are no longer in our ward. They are still married untile divorce is finalized. MLS doesn't show the former members name but lds.org directory does? Please help.

Hello! I'm a missionary currently serving in the Virginia Richmond Mission. I love the new improvements you've made to the directory, and was wondering if it is possable for me to be able to view the ward directory in the ward i am currently serving in. This would be a big help if we could view the roster information online, and possably download it on to a gps device for using. (because we're not alloud to have smart phones)

Currently members can not get access to the directory for a stake in which they are not a member or hold an ecclesiastical calling. This is both due to a technical limitation (the application just won't do it) and to restrictions in the church's privacy policy.

I'm an executive secretary trying to get tabs on all the ward members in our boundaries, and I second the need for a GPS friendly format.

# Neil 2012-03-19 14:12
I second Kelli's concern regarding the listing of individuals not a member of the organization.

Besides that, good work. The system has been a great help within our ward.

Our unit wants to post the pictures of our families with the directory. We have a member assigned to do this but he reports he can't upload the pictures of the families he has taken. Can pictures be upload by this member or only by the family? What is missing? Do you have a link to specific directions? Thanks for you time today. - Jim

The member assigned to do this will need to be assigned the appropriate calling (i.e. Ward Website Admin) in MLS to have access to this functionality. See this section of the Directory help documentation: https://tech.lds.org/wiki/Directory_roles_and_responsibilities

Hello;
I have a question about my information in the Directory.
When i check my information in the directory, my Name appears wrong, in the MLS and in the church systems my name appears correct. The only place where my name is wrong is in the directory.

What can I do to correct this error?

# Kelli 2012-03-25 11:59
Steven, in the future you can visit maps.lds.org and select Find Places of Worship to locate the local Bishop's name and phone number (in this case, El Paso First Ward Bishop is Bishop Peeni 801-592-5402). This might result in a more timely response to your request for a ride to church. Hopefully you heard from someone!

I *think* this started happening with the new update but can't confirm that. It's possible this behavior existed before the update.

There's a sister in our ward whose last name starts with S. Her nonmember husband's last name starts with B. In the online directory (the new directory), the alphabet shortcut along the side shows "A B S B C D E F G...". The B's are split in the middle by an S, and then the alphabet continues normally.

If I scroll the list, I see all the B members, then see the B nonmember and member spouse, then see the remaining B members. The B nonmember has an S header before their name, presumably because the member's last name starts with S.

Thanks Glen. I'll pass this feedback along to quality assurance to investigate.

I keep trying to update my family information on lds.org (visibility and phone number) and it freezes every time, regarless of time or computer. I can update the indivual information just fine, but not the family info. Any suggestions?

# Tom Johnson 2012-07-09 08:46
Patrice, can you include the details of your browser and operating system? That might help in troubleshooting . Also, regardless of the browser, try clearing the cache.

# Reid Poole 2012-11-07 19:37
when I try to print my ward directory with photos, none of
the photos work their way into the print out. And, still, there are many missing
addresses (addresses that are there but do not pull into the directory when I try to
print it with photos).

Is there a way to map only the YSA in our ward?

# Mark J Allred 2015-05-20 16:32
I am a senior missionary serving in the California Redlands Mission. We do keep up the information in IMOS and having access to the directory really helps.

I have found that while LDS Tools and lds.org do a good job of linking an individual address in my assigned ward to a map, I can find no way to see the members of my mission assigned ward in the LDS maps page (so I can see the whole ward membership on the map at once. Figured to use it to plan visits. I can do it for my home ward.)

I figured it just didn't work but one of our missionaries says it works for him in his assigned ward. Interestingly his companion cannot see them.

How can we make this work?

Some members opt out of being included on the lds tools ward directory so are not seen on ward list. They can opt for leadership to still have visibility. It seems like Priesthood leaders are included in leadership but RS president is not - is this possible to fix?
