Question

The Pedigree Resource File (PRF) has in the past been available by cd-rom's that must be purchased in groups or accessed in limited locations and only updated by submissions online. What is the future of PRF, cleaning up its redundant submissions, and if it is being replaced what is it being replaced by?

Answer

The data in PRF will be merged into the new FamilySearch Web site with Ancestry File, Membership Records, Temple Records and many other legacy archives. Much of the duplication has been eliminated through the "data migration" process. The duplication that remains for all remaining records will be completed by patrons using the new FamilySearch Web site.
